A Painting With a Personal Story

Some of the most meaningful paintings begin with a photograph and the story behind it.

I create custom watercolor paintings from your photographs—homes, pets, favorite places, family memories, and other subjects that have special meaning to you.

A photograph gives me the starting point, but the finished painting isn't intended to simply reproduce the photograph. I use watercolor to interpret the scene, emphasizing the character, light, color, and details that make the subject important to you.

A commissioned watercolor can commemorate a favorite pet, preserve the memory of a family home, celebrate a special place or occasion, or become a one-of-a-kind gift for someone you care about.

How Does a Commission Work?

  1. Send me your photograph. A clear, high-resolution photograph works best. If you're unsure whether your photo will work, send it to me and I'll take a look.

  2. We'll discuss your painting. We'll talk about the subject, size, composition and any details you'd especially like included—or omitted.

  3. I'll create your watercolor. Once we've agreed on the composition and details, I'll begin your original painting.

  4. You'll review the finished artwork. I'll send you an image of the completed painting before delivery.

Commission Sizes & Pricing

Commission pricing depends on the size and complexity of the painting. I'll provide a firm price before beginning any work, so there are no surprises. Contact me with your photograph and the approximate size you're considering, and I'll be happy to provide a quote.
